Mayor Jackie Biskupski will be joining us for the July 6th general meeting at Sprague Library. Come and hear an update from the Mayor and ask any questions. The Mayor will be with us from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
Now that summer is here I hope everyone gets out and enjoys those great events that make Sugar House such a great place to live.
Is everyone ready for July 4th?
The Sugar House Chamber is the volunteer organization responsible for bringing you the 4th of July street festival and since last year also organizes, raises funds and pulls off the fireworks. They also bring us a variety of events throughout the year.
Stop by and say hello at the Sugar House Community Council booth during the 4th of July street festival. We will be raffling off matted print by our very own Laurie Bray so join in on that. We love meeting our neighbors!
The SHCC is participating in a Jane’s Walk on July 13th for the core of the business district. Jane’s Walk is nationwide effort to get people out into their community to Walk, Observe, and Connect. They are self-organized walks and discussions about community.
If you have ever had questions about all the stuff going on in the business district you are not alone. This is a confluence of trails (Parley’s and McClelland Canal Trails), walkways, transit, developments and gathering places and keeping all those piece straight can be challenging. Advocating for all those pieces takes a community. We will be participating in aJane’s Walk event July 13th. See more information below. It is a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and give some comments about how all these things fit together.
I hope you can join us for this great event.
