Salt Lake City is changing the way residents deal with all our waste. In order to help extend the life of our landfill and cut down on our waste the city is delivering brown waste bins to all residents.
The exciting news is that in this brown waste bin you can include all your yard waste and fruit/vegetable scraps for compost. Utilizing this feature is such a convenience for Salt Lake City residents as we can drastically reduce the amount of waste we send to the landfill. Salt Lake City estimates we are only recycling at 19%, which means we can make huge leaps in cutting down our garbage if we utilize both the blue recycling bin and the brown waste bin.
Salt Lake City has also increased their glass recycling drop off sites around the city. Sugar House residents now have multiple sites to choose from. For more information on collection sites and the curbside bins visit here , below is a list of locations for the Sugar House area.
