ADU Accessory Dwelling Unit 2651 E Imperial Street

Andrea Palmer, the architect, has submitted a Conditional Use application to construct an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in the back northeast corner of the subject property at 2651 S. Imperial Street zoned R-1-7,000: Single-Family Residential. New ADUs in this zone must be processed as a conditional use. The proposed ADU will have a footprint of 432 square feet and a height of 11 feet 3 inches. The site plan and elevations have been attached below to help facilitate your review.

An ADU is defined as:
A type of accessory use that includes a residential unit that is located on the same lot as a single-family
attached or detached dwelling unit, either internal to or attached to the single-family unit or in a detached
structure. The accessory dwelling unit shall be a complete housekeeping unit with a shared or separate
entrance, and separate kitchen, sleeping area, closet space, and bathroom facilities.

This proposal will be on the Sugar House Community Council Land Use and Zoning (LUZ) committee November 18 at 6 p.m. at the Legacy Village Sugar House, 1212 East Wilmington Avenue on the 5th floor in the Fairmont Room.  You can attend to ask questions and provide feedback.
