UPDATE: This project was approved by the Planning Commission on January 26, 2022. Here is the staff report, recommending approval.  The only condition in the staff report is that the owner-occupant shall not operate or allow the operation of a short-term rental (i.e., less than 30 days) in the single-family dwelling and the accessory dwelling unit as defined in the Salt Lake City Zoning Ordinance.  If you would like to watch on Webex, or make a comment at the Planning Commission meeting, here are instructions.

This is a proposal to build a 650 square foot ADU over a detached garage in the rear yard at 2900 South 900 East.  There are two parking spaces in the garage with two more in the driveway. Here is the notification we received from the city.  The Standards for Conditional Uses are on pages 2-3. Here are the plans for this garage with an ADU above.

This item was discussed at the SHCC Land Use and Zoning Committee meeting on October 11.  You still have time to send a comment and we will pass along to the planner. If you send us a comment, using the form below, you will get a link to the Planning Commission meeting.
