The Wasatch Community Symphony of Salt Lake City is the oldest continuing community orchestra in the area. Dr. Lawrence Spell was appointed as the Orchestra’s Music Director and Conductor in 2013. The conductor and all musicians donate their time to rehearse and provide free concerts for the public. The commitment of the players is evidenced by the fact that, in addition to providing their talents, they donate annual dues to the organization. Some members have played in the orchestra for more than thirty, forty, or even fifty years. Our musicians represent many vocations, including homemakers, professional musicians, accountants, artists, educators, engineers, nurses, doctors, and students and they represent all age groups. As a non-profit organization, the orchestra is educational in scope, providing the performers and listeners with a broad range of experiences in symphonic literature.
