25 Jan Gillmor Hall Building Addition at Westminster College

We have a proposal from Westminster College for a proposed addition to the existing Jewett Center for the Performing Arts which is adjacent to 1700 S. The building addition known as Gillmor Hall will be a 100-person recital hall and dance performance studio housed in a triangular-shaped building located on the south-east side of the existing Jewett Center.
The I – Institutional Zoning district for the Westminster College Campus limits buildings to 35-feet in height. However, taller buildings in excess of 35-feet but not more than 75-feet may be approved through the Design Review process.
The proposed building will be 45-feet in height and will be located within the interior of the campus. The applicant is going through the Design Review process to request an additional 10-feet of building height over the 35-feet allowed for the proposed addition.
This project will be reviewed in an Open House Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Jewett Center Atrium Westminster College. The petitioner and the Salt Lake City planner will be available to answer questions.
