Chair Report for March 1st, 2017
Resource Centers
After talking to the City Council, city staff and county staff it sounds like we are in a three-week holding pattern on the homeless resource centers. The legislative session ends on March 9th so we hope to have more information available after that time. We continue to stress that we view ourselves as a conduit of information. Each individual trustee has their own opinion but we continue to stay neutral as a collective. We will be forwarding all of the comments we have received to the Planning Commission once our letter is finalized.
Remember that we take requests for invited guests at our monthly Community Council meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 7-9 pm at the Sprague Library. If there is a topic you would like more information on, we can find someone to come talk us about the topic.
New Trustee
We would like to welcome a new trustee to the council. His name is Cameron Anderson and he represents the Dilworth area.
Sugar House Construction
Questar has two projects that started within a week of each other. Beginning on February 15th they began installation of a new gas line on 1700 South from 700 East to 1300 East. The project is scheduled to be completed July 31st. The other project began on February 20th on 1300 East from 800 South to 1700 South. This project is scheduled to be completed July 14th. The projects are supposed to be done without lane closures but will more than likely have some effect on traffic. Check out our website for up-to-date construction information.
Saying Goodbye
Lastly, The Bar in Sugar House is closing and their last day is Saturday, February 25th. They are inviting everybody to come say their goodbyes. They have been in the area for over 7 decades.
