May 2017 Chair Report

By the end of June 2017, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail at Grandeur Peak Trailhead will be connected to Sugar House Park on a dedicated hard surface trail. We will have Colin Quinn-Hearst at the meeting in May to talk about the Parley’s Trail connection through the Sugar House Business District. You can find updates on the Parley’s Trail at www.parleystrail.org.
Construction: The car wash at 1300 E 2100 S is now closed and construction for a CVS Pharmacy should start soon. The 1000 East 2100 S apartments have completed demolition and construction is moving along. See our complete list of construction updates.
Survey: SLC is conducting a survey to find out what you like about the city and what you might want to change. Take a few moments to fill it out.
Hazardous Waste Drop off at Sugar House Park-Mt. Olympus Pavilion. Dates are May 4th, June 1st, and June 29th. Each event runs from 7am to 10am. This is the only location throughout the county that accepts hazardous waste, electronic waste and pharmaceuticals. It is free for SL County residents Sample Sugar House has begun and will run until April 29. The Monday night food truck league is up and running. The next Sugar House art walk is May 13 and continues the second Friday of the month from 6-9 pm. Check out the events!
Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Sugar House trustees who volunteer their time for our community. Our own Amy Barry was honored by the Utah Parks Association recognizing her advocacy, commitment and her service. Congratulations Amy!
