SUGAR HOUSE COMMUNITY COUNCIL BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES

April 6, 2011

The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar House Community Council Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 7:00 pm, in the meeting room of the Sprague Branch Library, First ViceChair, Amy Barry in the Chair, Secretary, Philip Carlson being present.  Trustees in attendance: Cabot Nelson, Michael G. Kavanagh, Jason Bradley, Grace Sperry, Benny Keele, Rawlins Young, Russell Callister, Larry Migliaccio, Scott Kisling, Lynne Olsen, Judi Short, Shelia O’Driscoll, Sally Barraclough, Barbara Green, Derek Payne.  Dave Mulder, Dolores Donohoo, Annalisa Holcombe, Christopher Thomas, Sarah Carlson, Jim Brown and Elaine Brown.  Excused Trustees:  Laurie Bray, Sandra Walsh, Robin Bastar, Travis Pierce, Carlyle Harris, Pattie Denunzio.  Absent:  Ruth Price.

The minutes were approved without amendment.

The motion forming the Affordable Housing Committee made by Sheilia O’Driscoll passed.

Trustee Petitions were approved for Laurie Bray and Ronald Molen.

Committee Reports were presented by Judi Short for LU&Z, Lynne Olsen for POST, Rawlins Young for Transportation, Scott Kisling for SHBD Map, Amy Barry for Sustainability and Sarah Carlson for Finance.

During Reports the “Finance Committee moves each committee will have $50 a year for operating expenses.” PASSED.

Judi Short moved that we “Approve an expenditure of $60 for an application to participate in the SHFM.”  The motion PASSED after discussion.

Todd gave a presentation for the Fire Department.

Judi Short gave a short review on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).

Alexander Scott gave a presentation on Utah Home Performance Energy Audits.

Carol Steffens gave a presentation on the Wasatch Jazz Project and the Sugar House Jazz Festival.

Annalisa Holcombe gave a presentation on the Westminster Master Plan, followed by comments from SHCC Members and Trustee comments.

Becka Roolf presented Improving and Redesigning Bicycle Facilities.  This was followed by questions & comments by Members and Trustees.

Monthly Presentations were given by Soren Simonsen for the City Council, Det. Boelter for Crime and Public Safety, Michael G. Kavanagh introduced Dusty Reidhead for Noodles & Co. for the Business Spotlight, Barbara Green for the SHMA and Shawn McDonough for the Mayor’s Office.

The meeting adjourned at 9:05 pm
