SUGAR HOUSE COMMUNITY COUNCIL BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

Meeting Minutes – January 3, 2012

     The regular meeting of the Sugar House Community Council was held on Wednesday, January 3, 2013, at 7:00pm, at the Sprague Library. Trustees in attendance were Joedy Lister, Maggie Shaw, Laurie Bray, Robin Bastar, Dave Mulder, Steve Lister, Cabot Nelson, Judi Short, Amy Barry, Annalisa Holcombe, Topher Horman, Benny Keele, Larry Migliaccio, Michael G. Kavanagh, Sarah Carlson, Scott Kisling. Christopher Thomas served as chair and Cabot Nelson as secretary. The trustee noted as excused was Sally Barraclough.

Call to order at 7:06pm. Cabot Nelson gave his secretary report. Motion to approve the minutes of the December meeting passed on a voice vote. Motion to approve the petition for Christopher Thomas approved on a voice vote.

Robin Bastar gave his treasurer report.

Christopher Thomas as chair made announcements.

Fire department report

Bob Silverthorne of the SLFD, new captain of station #3, gave a report on the fire department.

Committee reports

Judi Short reported for the Land Use and Zoning committee.

Larry Migliaccio reported for the Transportation committee.

Cabot Nelson reported for the Web and Internet committee. Motion passed to include in these minutes that the SHCC spent $63 for domain name renewal.

Laurie Bray reported for the Arts and Cultural committee.

Community groups and projects

Annalisa reported for the SH Merchants Association.

Special presentations

Christopher Thomas presented guidelines for motions and discussions. He also presented a model calendar of a yearlong schedule of tasks and events for the SHCC board to observe.

Community and City Presentations

For the business spotlight, Michael G. Kavanagh introduced Pierre Vandamme, proprietor of Bruges Waffles & Frites, 2314 South Highland Drive.

Dolly Rauh reported on library events.

Shawn McDonough gave a report for the Mayor’s Office.
