October 2015 Chair Report

[caption id="attachment_1196" align="alignleft" width="107"] Amy Barry[/caption] This year has certainly flown by - at least for me. It has been a fairly busy year and more is coming. Please take the time to get involved, be informed and be a voice for your neighborhood. Once again the SHCC is sponsoring a Candidate forum for Salt Lake City Mayor and City Council District 6 candidates. October 21st is the date and you can find more information below. Please don't miss this opportunity to meet the candidates, ask questions and be informed. Ballots will be mailed out around October 5th so hand on to them. If you do not receive a ballot in the mail around that time call 385-468-7400 to request one. Public hearing regarding the proposed relocation of Fire Station #3 to the south end of Forest Dale parking lot has been set forOctober 20th. The city council will take public comments regarding this issue at their meeting. You can check for meeting agendas as the date gets closer for the time. Anyone interested can also read the report submitted by the planning commission to the city council. If you are unable to attend the meeting you can submit comments to [email protected].

Times have certainly changed from when Sugar House was dirt roads and farm land. The photo I found in the Giovale Digital Library of Westminster Campus certainly shows how our community has been in constant flux to what we live now. Make sure you check out our events page to not miss out on all the fun activities.  The SHCC tries to help highlight all the events, but we know we miss some.
