29 May SH LUZ Report 2024 June
The Salt Lake City Council will begin their 2024-35 budget deliberations from May to Mid-June. The Council will meet weekly between May and mid-June to discuss, review, and fine-tune the recommended FY25 budget based on its priorities and public input. You can learn about the FY25 City budget and how to get involved at tinyurl.com/SLCFY25.
Public hearings on the FY25 budget are scheduled for the 7 p.m. formal meetings on Tuesday, May 21, and Tuesday, June 4. This is a chance to provide input directly to the Council during a public meeting. Input may also be shared anytime online, by email at [email protected], or by phone at 801-535-7654. The Council vote to adopt the proposed changes to the water rates at its May 21 meeting.
The City Council has also been reviewing the request for a proposed Capitol City Revitalization Zone/Sports, Entertainment, Culture and Convention District. You can read about this in the CC RECAPS, published after every meeting. Details are also in the newspapers. The Planning Commission is scheduled to review this at their June 12 meeting.
At our May 20 LUZ, we discussed a new petition. This is to clear up language in the code that clarifies Rooftop Uses and how their height is calculated based on the zone. Here is the link to that. You can still send me your comments up until June 3.
The next LUZ meeting will be Monday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at the Sprague Library.
This is a week early because June 17 is Juneteenth. We have a request to use a parking lot at 2005 S 800 East for an RV parking lot. This will be posted shortly. I recommend you drive by and look at this lot and the surrounding area before submitting any comments.
